CopSpot is operated by Automated Reality LLC ("we"). This page explains what CopSpot collects and what it does not. Plain words, no tricks.

WHAT STAYS ON YOUR PHONE

• The camera picture. CopSpot looks at it on your phone and never sends it anywhere.
• Your location. It is used on your phone for Frequent Cop Spots, Mute Zones and LPR camera alerts, and never sent anywhere.
• Your settings, saved spots, mute zones and the LPR camera map.
• Clips you save. They stay on your phone unless you send one as a Report.

REPORTS

A Report is the only thing CopSpot uploads, and only when you label a clip Report and send it. A Report carries the video clip (up to 60 MB), when and where it was recorded, the speed and direction trace, what CopSpot detected in it, your phone's performance setting, the app version, and an anonymous device code that changes every week. It carries no name, email, phone number or account.

We use Reports to check CopSpot's alerts and to teach it to spot police cars better. Reports may be reviewed by us and used to improve CopSpot. Clips may show other cars and people; we use them only for this purpose and do not publish them.

Rejected clips are deleted automatically about 14 days after review. Approved clips are kept while they help improve CopSpot. To delete a Report you sent, email us with the date, time and rough place, and we will find and delete it.

To stop abuse, the upload service counts requests per network for one day using a scrambled code made from your internet address. That code is not stored with your Report and expires within a day.

PURCHASES

Premium is bought on this website. Payments are handled by Stripe; we never see your card number. We receive your email address, what you bought, the amount and the payment status, so we can send your unlock code and help you restore it. Your unlock code works offline and does not report back to us.

WEBSITE AND DOWNLOADS

When you visit this site, download the app, or the app checks for an update, a new LPR map or new default settings, our hosting provider handles the request and may keep standard technical logs, like internet address, time and browser type, for security. Our pages load fonts from a font service, which sees your internet address like any site you visit. We do not use ad trackers, analytics cookies or ad pixels.

SHARING

We do not sell or rent your information. We share it only with the services that run CopSpot for us (hosting, payments, email delivery) or when the law requires it.

CHILDREN

CopSpot is made for adult drivers and is not meant for children under 13.
